John Muir Behavioral Health Center – Concord

Flood Repair, OSHPD Level #1

The project started as a narrow repair to an 8,300 sqft nursing wing within a psychiatric facility. Because of a plumbing backup, we participated in an emergency project to repair the damage to the walls and floors. Once inside, considerable damage was found to the metal studs, walls, and casework, which led to the facility requesting a full finish upgrade. P+Hd worked closely with the facility, OSHPD and contractor to reduce the amount of time the unit was down, as well as the impact on the facility and the patient population. The finish upgrade consisted of bathroom remodels, new casework, a new med room & nourishment rooms, and the inclusion of anti-ligature components and hardware throughout for patient safety.
